AMD Opteron Kernel Help

I have dual AMD Opteron's running a 32-bit Debian "Etch" which by default installed the 2.6.18-4-486 kernel however I was wondering if I should be using the 2.6.18-4-686 kernel. Which would you install for this system?

Debian amd64 install with the normal default kernel unless of course there is some particular reason you only want to use a 32bit install on a 64bit machine then I believe you need the -686 to get it to use the extra cpu(s).
