Yet Another Radeon 9800 Prob

Hey all again...Just installed Redhat 9 and im having serious probs with getting my radeon 9800 to work, Ive done a search of the forum, and read most of the 9800 past problems, but they not like mine (really)

I downloaded the 'Radeon 9800' driver from ATI, ran the rpm...Then when i rebooted i had some weird screen asking for yes or no, I had to put yes then it defaults back to The Vesa driver.

So i tried the RPM with --force

then i get this

--------------------------->>
*** Trying to install a precompiled kernel module.
*** WARNING ***
Tailored kernel module for fglrx not present in your system.
You must go to /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod subdir
and execute './make.sh' to build a fully customed kernel module.
Afterwards go to /lib/modules/fglrx and run './make_install.sh'
in order to install the module into your kernel's module repository.
(see readme.txt for more details.)

As of now you can still run your XServer in 2D, but hardware acclerated
OpenGL will not work and 2D graphics will lack performance.

failed.
*** Error: no kernel module build environment - please consult readme.
Installed: qt3 (gcc 3.2) based control panel application
===
ATI display drivers successfully installed
please run 'fglrxconfig' now
-------------------------------------<<

Now i do what it says and goto /lib/modules/blah blah blah and i try ./make.sh but then i get this::

------------------------------------->>

ATI module generator V 2.0
==========================
initializing...
kernel includes at /usr/src/linux/include not found or incomplete
file: /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h

-------------------------------------<<

Hmmm, in a word HELP..

If anyone can gives us a hand i'd be much appreciated..

Many many thanks

_Mhz

EDIT:::::I just realised i need the kernal source, to do the kernel thing...So ive just installed it and tryed it again, and somethings happend, (good or bad i dont know yet) so i will post back soon no doubt

This is exacly the same problem I'm having with my 9700. So, also, keep an eye on 9700 messages , as there maybe an answer to solve your problem too.
