Angry why my linux can't work at 32 color depth???


I have a nvidia geforce 2 MX 400 with 32 Ram,but I can't get my linux box work at 32 color depth,I can just make it at 24.can anybody tell me why???thanx

Same here.

It doesn't matter much. Do you know or can you see the difference between 24 bit & 32 bit colors? Frankly, I don't & can't. They're pretty much the same to me. Certain video cards can show 32-bit on X.

Do a little reading about X, and read the read me from nvidia's site. You will find out that 24, isn't refering to the bit depth, and if it is set to 24 you are indeed running at 32.

Confusing I know, I wondered about it and did a little research and reading.

there was only a 3 minute delay between your post and mine, I apologise, I must have been typing while you were posting.

When I saw your post I tried to delete mine, but it wouldn't let me. I didn't know, and will remember it in the future.
