usb jumpdrive ?


hi
i want my gentoo linux to auto mount my usb jump drive when i connect it but i dont know how to do this please help :

thnx in advance

providing you have the correct modules loaded or built into your kernel, it should be as easy as mount /dev/sdaX /mnt/usb_drive

*X is the partition number

/mnt/usb_drive is a dir you have created and can be located anywhere you like

if you have troubles, often its because usb-storage isnt loaded, so just try a

modprobe usb-storage
