USB Double Layer DVD Burners

Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences getting a USB Double Layer (8.5GB) DVD burner working under Linux?

Both Iomega and LaCie now have these burners at good prices, so would be a great backup tool if they work under Linux.

Any experiences?

thanks .. frank

I can't say for sure, but any drive you get is likely to work very well. Most drives (CDR, DVD-+R) look exactly the same to Linux, and should work with no issues at all.

I've yet to encounter a drive that didn't work out the box.

Just watch the 2GB per file limit on ISO9660 filesystems.

Dave.
