Stability Problems on KT266 based system
Hey guys, I've been having a lot of stability problems in a system that I just converted to linux. This isn't my first linux box by any means, but none has given me this much trouble. The system is based on a Soyo Dragon motherboard with a 1.3ghz Athlon CPU, 512mb Crucial DDR, 40gb Seagate Barracuda, and a 32mb Visiontek Geforce2. Installing NVidia's X server fixed all of my video related problems, but the system destabilizes every once in a while and requires a while to fix itsself (around 5-10min), and sometimes it doesn't and requires a hard reboot. I'm running Redhat 7.2 on it right now, although I ran into the same problems previously with Debian. I think it has something to do with interactions with the Kt266 chipset; I noticed that when the system boots it states that it's unable to identify the VIA southbridge. Any ideas?
