SoundMAX AC97 soundcard


hey, i just got a new laptop, and it came standard with the SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio soundcard. it worked great with windows, but its not with suse 9.1. the sound still works in windows, but not in linux. any suggestions? i really need some help on this one. thanks.

i have that soundcard 2.. in my desktop, is works really fine with fedora core (1,2,3)! but in the first.. Fedora.. I used to plug the speakers in the microphone hole... try it.. hmm.. and see if the volume is not set to mute.. :S

i never used suse.. :\ but you cand try:

modprobe snd_via82xx

if it don't work.. try:

modprobe snd_ac97_codec
modprobe snd_pcm

and tell the output!

no output for any of them.. didnt seem to do anything at all
