Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Sound Blaster Live (CT4830) or Sound Blaster Live 24 bit

I'm having trouble making up my mind on which of these two cards to get. My main goal for upgrading from my motherboard sound is so I can run q3 (Quake 3) and TS2 (Teamspeak) at the same time. The older CT4830 will allow me to do this, but I can get the newer 24bit SBLive for about $2 more. I've seen a lot of issues reported for the 24bit SBLive, but it was mostly stuff posted last Dec (2004).

One thing that could be a down side for the 24bit version is that it doesn't support hardware mixing. I'm not quite sure how significant this is though.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance!
