Smartcard reader on Linux Mint 21.1

On Devuan, I had a working uTrust 2700 R smardcard reader. On Linux Mint 21.1, it seems to recognize the device but not any cards. From dmesg

Code:
...
[542825.921786] usb 1-4.1: New USB device found, idVendor=04e6, idProduct=5810, bcdDevice= 2.02
[542825.921797] usb 1-4.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=5
[542825.921801] usb 1-4.1: Product: uTrust 2700 R Smart Card Reader
[542825.921805] usb 1-4.1: Manufacturer: Identiv
[542825.921807] usb 1-4.1: SerialNumber: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
...
What needs to change to for cards to be recognized?

You can find the drivers at this link -->https://support.identiv.com/2700r/

The linux download shows 32 bit ans 64 bit in the same download. It also mentions Ubuntu.

Thanks but those are from 2015 and the drivers are already present.

However, I did look for other pieces, though, it seems that a dependency may have been missing from pcscd as it was installed but not running. I'll not dig into it further since it works now.
