Silicon Image RAID - No HD LED lights

Hello all,

I happen to have a ASUS A7N8X mobo with the Silicon Image RAID controller. I think its a great board but one thing I have notcied is that the in Linux, the controller works fine but I get no HD LEDS. I take it that this must be something in the driver? If so, is there a fix. Its not like its a huge deal, its HD lights make it easy for me to determine if my apps are actually accessing data or not. I always thought that as long as data was passing through the controller, the lights would be active....I guess I was wrong!

Could it be that the wires for the HD LED lights are simply attached to the wrong pin(s) on the mobo. I ran into the same situation myself on my rig when I was building it, and it was due to me placing the HD LED wire onto, say, pin #4 when it really should have been placed on pin #5. Assuming that you have the owner's manual for the mobo, I'd definitely take a few minutes to investigate. -- J.W.

Well, Its a dual boot system (have some games that will ONLY work in Windows) and the in windows light activity is not an issue so, this is was lead me to believe that it might be a driver issue
