Dear friends,

I doubt this question is of relevance to the contents of this forum however would appreciate a little assistance.

I have Ibm netfinity 5600 (2xpIII cpus) running ubuntu. Planning to attach a small UPS which at least may allow safe shutdown of the computer.

The question is, after such safe shutdown, how may I configure the hardware or software to detect if AC power is up again so startup the computer ?

In abnormal power outages, the server can reboot to last state but with manual or automated shutdown using UPS power, how can we make it reboot on AC again?

well this couldn't possibly be anything to do with linux... the computer is turned OFF... you would need to check the bios configuration i guess.
