ps2-> usb converter?

hi

i got a keyboard which is ps/2

problem is my laptop doesn't have any ps/2 port ..
i checked out ps2->usb converters around web
and it costs about 30-70$
...
lol

don't some ps/2 mouses/keyboard which are less than 30$ come with ps/2->usb cord?
should i buy one of these mouse or keyboard and try the cord for my new keyboard?

will that work?

thanks..

I've got a PS/2 to USB converter that came with a keyboard hooked up to a server where the XConfiguration is PS/2, works just fine.

yeah, just make your your kernel has enabled all the USB options and also all the HID options...then it should work...too bad it doesn't have a ps/2 ..my sincere regrets.

Uhm... the signal conversion is done in the hardware, its just like hooking up a PS/2 device. Is something else going wonko?

Cheers,
