Question Produce system load in a controlled manner

Hi there!

I'm trying to track down an error that might have to do with cpu temperature. The patient is an old Mac Mini running a weekly updated Debian.

It seems that cpuburn has vanished. As a workaround I'm using 'md5sum /dev/zero'.

Does anyone here know how to produce cpu load in some controlled manner?

TIA

Gregor

PS: stress does it. Just had to use the right search term.
