Unhappy Please help, Soyo Dragon Plus (AMD) with onboard sound

I built a new computer, the motherboard is a Soyo Dragon Plus with onboard sound. The operating system installed is Fedora 3, the problem I am having is the speakers have to be turned up all the way to hear them. The previous version of Linux I had the sound worked perfectly, is there a driver or somekind of configuration that can solve this problem.

I am new to Linux and very confused on why the sound is so low.

Run from the commandline:

alsamixer

Check the manpage if you have questions operating it.

I ran alsamixer and the volume is turned up all the way. I just don't understand what I might be missing or something I have configured wrong. The board is a Soyo SY-KT600 Dragon Plus v.1.0 ATX Motherboard.

When I had Redhat Enterprise Workstation (RHEL3) the sound worked perfectly. But with Fedora Core 3 it is very hard to hear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.
