Pinnacle Excalibur 3.0 video capture card - can't get it to work.

This is mostly for educational purposes, as I am going to go and try to get a linux compatible card today.

When I try to get it to capture video in kino, cinerella, or use it as a webcam device in Ekiga, it either sais "no device found" or "device doesn't react". Or something like that.

In the device manager it shows up as:
TSB12LV23 IEEE-1394 Controller

IEEE-1394 is a firewire port, right? It does have two firewire ports, but I need the s-video in port, which isn't listed. "Texas Instruments" shows up as Vendor. The chipset is by TE, so I guess this is correct.
