pen not working on wp5540u tablet?

Hi everyone and merry christmas.

I just got this new pen tablet for chrismas but there is only one little problem:

I cannot get the pen to work (but the mouse works fine).....

I compiled and tried all possible modules in linux 2.6.8.1 regarding tablets (it is a UC-LOGIC WP5540U usb tablet, branded as 'XP-Pen') - aiptek, powermate, kbtab, mtouchusb, wacom and although modprobe does not object to loading them X will not respond to pen actions.

I checked /proc/bus/usb/devices:

T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=02 Dev#= 3 Spd=1.5 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=5543 ProdID=0004 Rev= 0.00
S: Manufacturer=UC-LOGIC
S: Product=Tablet WP5540U
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=a0 MxPwr=100mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=03(HID ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=usbhid
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 8 Ivl=10ms

And also none of the howtos that i read (wacom tablet howto, xfree touchscreen howto) were of any help either.

Is there anything I can do or am i just stuck being unable to use the pen. (PS does 2.6.10 contain drivers?)

thanx in advance

I have the same tablet.
I would also be interested in getting it to work, since it is the only thing not working since I switched to linux.

I configured it as a normal mouse with the IMPS/2 protocol in my xorg.conf but the cursor jumps all over the screen so it is not working correctly.

It works!

I have exactly the same xp-pen tablet as you have there. I've been also in the trouble until I found this page:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/TabletSetupWizardpen

I hope you are on Ubuntu, it will be easier. However, I myself just have successfully do it with several modifications on SuSE 10.1.

Let's share this joy (by having our tablet works under linux) to the world hehe
