nVidia: client 6 rejected from local host

Hello,
I have a serious problem with my

- nVidia TNT2 video card (4 Megs of RAM)
- the nVidia accelerated drivers installed from NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run
- Mandrake 10.0 official distro

The screen looks scrambled on icewm and windows are overlapping on Gnome (Metacity).
Replacing "nvidia" by "nv" in my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file only solves this problem.
a tail /var/log/XFree86.0.log shows this last line:
AUDIT: client 6 rejected from local host
Adding VideoRam 4000 in the Device section of my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 doesn't help.
I've checked many places on the web including nVidia website but nothing so far.
Anybody had this problem before? Can you help guys? Thank you you're the best!
