NForce2 motherboard with ATA 133 (7200 rpm) hard drive

Hi there,

I've got a motherboard with the Nforce2 chipset and an ATA133/7200rpm hard drive. I seems to begetting very poor throughput: hdparm -t /dev/hda gives about 10 Mb/s on average. I think it should be 3 or 4 times that amount. I had this same hard drive installed on a motherboard with a VIA chipset and I was getting 35-40 Mb/s so I'm wondering if the problem is with the linux Nforce IDE drivers. If you have the same motherboard chipset, could you please run the
hdparm -t /dev/hd? program amd report your numbers here. thanks!

Here's my Nforce 2 results useing Fedora Core 2. hdc is a 120GB 8meg cache WD ATA133 drive and hdd is a 80GB 2meg cache WD ATA133 drive. The board is a ABIT AN7.

[root@localhost root]# hdparm -t /dev/hdc

/dev/hdc:
Timing buffered disk reads: 140 MB in 3.01 seconds = 46.49 MB/sec
[root@localhost root]# hdparm -t /dev/hdd

/dev/hdd:
Timing buffered disk reads: 140 MB in 3.00 seconds = 46.64 MB/sec
