Mobo only supports uefi boot - how do I boot off a non-uefi cd?

Any workaround for this laptop where the bios settings only support uefi boot and it boots fine from uefi cd's, how do I make it boot from a non-uefi cd?

Never heard of a board that doesn't have some form of legacy but maybe. Might be called some odd name.

Pretty sure you'd have to get some uefi stub to boot and then go on to the loader for the cd be it syslinux or grub.

Could it be that you have not disabled secure boot?

Some intel boards have something like only support for 64 bit uefi while in uefi mode.

BIOS settings are very basic, no Secure Boot option anywhere.

Got a grub4dos CD that can chain-boot other devices such as usb hard drives and probably usb CD drives too, but it is not uefi so it does not boot on this laptop.

Does a uefi chain-booting cd or usb flash image exist?

I believe you could set up a uefi usb to chain-boot non-uefi. I've read about people doing that, but have never done it myself.
