Does this 'recently installed' system boot? Has it ever booted? You don't post enough information to get help. The best option is to boot Mint (if the installed system boots) or use the installation media and go to the link below and download and run boot repair as instructed at the site. Make sure you select the option to Create BootInfo Summary and post a link to the output here and you should get some help.

How did you create this usb?

What do you mean system setup? UEFI system settings?

You shouldn't boot from usb usually, you boot from a hard drive choice, one being the usb. Don't select usb in many cases.

If you want to boot to uefi then may have to boot to a uefi selection and make the usb for uefi. https://www.lifewire.com/create-uefi...nt-usb-2202084

I just had a look at a Mint system, and "system Setup" calls fwsetup for (re-)booting into the firmware (EFI) screen. Didn't work on my system either.

Normally you need to just find the key that does it as you reboot - maybe <Esc>, <F2> or <F12>. Varies by vendor. You should then get an option of what to boot - including the liveUSB.
