Ok I try to use a quickcam pro 400 from logitech on mandrake 9.1 . My webcam is recognized with gnomemeeting under /dev/video0 canal 0 but occurs an error when opening this device -->Your driver doesn't support the format YUV420P.
With the USBViewer command this webcam is recognized as a Philips Webcam....My impression is the drive included in this kernel doesn't correspond for a logitech Quickcam pro 4000....waiting next version....or a patch... my contact : raoul.linux@wanadoo.be

Ok After some invistigations, It seems as my quickcam pro 4000 is recognized by the kernel but the mode VGA@10fps has needed the decompressor module PWCX when starting gnomenetmeeting....
Info given by my /var/log/kernel/info.....
-pwc logitech quickcam pro 4000 detected
-pwc registered as /dev/video0
-pwc video mode 10fps is only supported withe the decompressor module ( pwcx )

I'm having a wierd problem with the logitech webcam pro 4000.

Basically when i kickoff xawtv it recognizes the webcam and starts to get video data from it, problem is that the picutre that's displayed is green and squished. Any ideas?

here's a picture of what i'm seeing:

Another wierd thing is that gnomemeeting works fine, it's just the xawtv products that aren't working.

Try reduce the window size (using your mouse drag on xawtv application window).

that worked! and upon trying to research why that works, i found that it's the pwcx module that i didnt have installed, it's now installed and i can do any sort of size for the webcam, thanks!
