Question Installing Mandrake 9.1 on Satellite 2400 series

Hi, I’m a newbie in Linux. I want to install Linux mandrake 9.1 as a dual boot on my Toshiba satellite 2400 series pre-installed with win-xp professional. Does anyone have any experience with this matter? I need more information about the compatibility among my laptop devices with this Linux os. Is there anybody can help me to pass this case in the safest way?
