I get a "device descriptor read/64, error -62" message when plugging my USB key.

Hello there.
I often get the following error message on my terminal when I try to plug my TL-WN823N USB wireless adaptator:
Quote:
[...] usb 2-4: device not accepting address 27, error -62
[...] usb 2-4: device descriptor read/64, error -62
[...] usb 2-4: device descriptor read/64, error -62
[...] usb 2-4: device not accepting address 29, error -62
[...] usb 2-4: device not accepting address 30, error -62
[...] usb usb2-port4: unable to enumerate USB device
As a result, the USB key is not even detected (I indeed looked up at lsusb).
It does not always happen, but when everything seems to work fine the message eventually appears after some time...
What does this exactly mean and how can I fix it ?

It's a hardware problem. Here is a little trick that has worked for several people. Mind you, it's a very old thread.

Code:
dec@Ebony:~$grep 62 /usr/include/asm-generic/errno.h
#define	ETIME		62	/* Timer expired */
That's what it means. That kind of error might be limited to well used ports. Try moving it around. FTR, usb-3.x has a higher current limit than usb-2.x

I removed my USB key, shut my computer down and unplugged it. Then I waited until the next day and replugged everything, booted my computer and plugged my USB key. However, there is still the error... Afterwards, I removed my key, simply shut my computer off, waited for some minutes and then replugged my key and powered the computer. Same thing, same error message.
Besides, I noticed that my TP-LINK USB key doesn't light up (there is a green light normally) when plugged in my computer, though it does on another. I do not think it is a hardware problem because, before I switched to Linux I had a Windows OS and I remember that the key lighted up with it as expected.

I switched to every possible port, yet nothing changes.
