So problem is here that install goes well but function keys not working right, volume keys are ok, keyboard backlight is ok, display brightness shows feedback but not doing actually anything. Then there is also problem with HDMI output itse not working at all, nothing shows on dmesg when plugging it on.
Are you running the release kernel or the backports kernel? If not using backports kernel, I'd definitely suggest that. I have a 845 G9 on the way, so I'll see if I have issues in about a week.
I've got my 845 G9 in, and the function keys work as special keys for me. All seem to work, brightness, backlight, volume, mute, airplane mode. My issue is that the option to change what they do by default in the BIOS is utterly ignored, so there's no way to get them to work as function keys by default for this laptop it seems.
Note - I'm not testing with Debian, I'm testing with EndeavourOS.
