how to make nvme (pci) raid. drives not recognised

how do I get linux to raid nvme M2 drives
I have 2 samsung 950 pro m2 ssd
2 asus hyper m2 x4 cards (pci adapter for ssd's)
asus rampage v extreme motherboard (bios 1801)
I can load os on them individually and boot from each
I would like to set them to raid0 but they show up in linux as
block device nvme0n1 and nvme1n1
(not viewable in gparted or fdisk)

all raid instructions i see refer to sda, sdb, etc
I would like the raid to be option 1/ bootable raid0 (partitioned)
or option 2/ boot on raid1 root etc on raid0 (partitioned)
or option 3/ boot on another drive root etc on raid (partitioned)
I know the risks with raid0 and know about back up

I am probably trying to over complicate things and getting in a mess
os is zorin 9 ultimate (64bit) (ubuntu 14.04 lts)

I hope this is enough info to get an answer
step by step please (old guy still learning)

Thought I replied to this.

Hello and welcome to LQ.

I don't get what you mean by not viewable in gparted.

If we assume that the hardware will support these as bootable devices or if you wish to boot from some other drive and use these then you may be able to use software raid or some advanced filesystem like BTRFS or ZFS.

I looked in /dev and they show up as :- nvme0, nvme0n1, nvme0n1p1, nvme0n1p2, nvme0n1p5 that looks like the first disk with its partitions
then I have :- nvme1, nvme1n1, nvme1n1p1, nvme1n1p2, nvme1n1p5 I presume that is the second disk with partitions
I thought I might try using mdadm replacing the ref's to sda, sdb, etc with nvme0n1, nvme1n1
I would appreciate any thoughts as I have not used mdadm before
thanks for the reply I thought no one knew the answer

p.s. sorry in my haste I did not answer your question

They show up in disks program in my accessories (could be gnome disks) it lists them separately to the disk drives (ssd and mechanical sata)
it lists them as block devices I can format, partition, rename, benchmark, etc.
in gparted the dont show up on the list at all
