How do you get a Vivitar ViviCam 3708 to function as a webcam with KDE 3.5.1?

I recently purchased a Vivitar ViviCam 3708 and was wondering how I could set it up to work with Kopete 0.11.1. It's not listed on any of the device lists and is currently incompatible with any software I currently have installed with Kde 3.5.1. Is there any possible solution that I can acquire?

I would consider returning it for something that is compatible with Kopete. Check their website out and see what users have had luck with. You might not be able to return it but just to let you know webcams are not well supported outside the windows world. Sucks yes, but just get your money back and buy one that works and it hopefully will work itself out. Good luck.
