I kind of miss having horizontal scrolling since leaving Windows. With different mice used and different Linux distros I noticed that there is no horizontal auto scrolling in Linux, just vertical auto scrolling. While I have been using Linux for the past 4+ years I am curious is there any fix or any plans on coming out with a fix for no horizontal auto scrolling in Linux?

I could be snarky and say that the journalctl command and probably many other commands feature horizontal scrolling. That is, however, for command line commands, not GUIs.
Or I could say that there is no concept of scrolling in Linux at all. You scroll windowed programs, and there are many windows-based user interfaces that run on Linux. Even non-graphical windows interfaces.
But you are most probably interested in GUIs. Well, you noticed incorrectly. As an example, see https://askubuntu.com/questions/2640...-ubuntu/883789, in case you use the Gnome desktop. You might use KDE, Xfce or one of the many others desktop environments and window managers, which may or may not support horizontal scrolling using various methods.
By the way, I found the above link by googling for Gnome horizontal scrolling. The internet knows everything.
EDIT: I just noticed that you seem to be using Xubuntu. My recommendation then: Google for xfce horizontal scrolling.

The presence or lack of a horizontal scroll bar -- or a vertical one, for that matter -- is managed by the program/application, not by the OS. If I make this browser window narrow enough, a horizontal scroll bar will appear.
If there are there are more columns populated in OpenOffice Calc that can be displayed on the screen/in the window, there is a horizontal scroll bar.
Where is it that you are not seeing a horizontal scroll bar that you want to see one?
And please define "auto scrolling" Are you talking about the functionality of some mice to horizontally scroll by tilting the scroll wheel to the side? Again, that would be a function of the desktop environment and/or drivers -- not the OS (that is, not "Linux") Personally, I always thought that a bit silly, but then, by the time that came out, I'd been happily mousing for more than 30 years, and I never adapted to using it. Old Dogs, as they say. (My current mouse is a "RoadMice" in the shape of a 2015-ish Chevy Camero)

Thank you for the reply and information. You are correct. I am referring to G.U.I. auto scrolling using a mouse. I came across a comment on the Internet referring to the lack of horizontal scrolling in Linux just like I have experienced. I use Xfce. I have tried Gnome in the past which I didn't like. I was giving Linux-questions a shot on this because of bad experiences with advice on other places of the Internet.

Please clarify what you're talking about.
No, you are misunderstanding me. The scroll bars are fine and I can move them with the mouse. It's the auto scrolling when I press the scrolling wheel in the mouse which will only show vertical auto scrolling and no horizontal scrolling. Also rocking the scroll wheel on the mouse does nothing.

When I press the scroll wheel on a mouse, it does a paste -- but I've configured to do that. This search got lots of hits, including this thread. Anything there to help?
