I tried installing Red Hat 9 in my system without any big success (problem with cups , sound card , etc)

I installed now mandrake 9.2 which works fine!

Only one thing

I downloaded the driver from ati (i have an ati 9600 pro radeon by the way) and all i did was to rpm -ivh --force the package and then run fglrxconfig(enabling the agp gart module). I get a framerat @ glxgears of 960 FPS . Is this ok?

If not should i do what the readme file srom ati tells me?If yes where should i execute the make distclean discribed ?

Run fglrxinfo to confirm direct rendering.

If it turns up Mesa instead of your ATI driver, refer to /var/log/XFree86.0.log,
cat /var/log/XFree86.0.log | grep EE ...will return the error lines from the log.
