Fractional Scaling - yes or no?

I have a desktop and laptop. My monitor resolution on both is 1600x900 and Ubuntu 22.x on both...

I don't see any performance problem on the desktop & read that it could maybe use battery power on a laptop ?

Should I use fractional scaling or not- ? Right now the desktop has it on and laptop has it off....

Addendum: Desktop is a core i5 and laptop core i3...

fractional scaling may mean a lot of things:
1. the size of the letters can be changed by that, so you can read the display better.
2. the non-standard resolution may make the image blurry.
3. yes, it can have some impact on performance too, but I think that is not that significant
