Unhappy failed to install redhat 9 (kernel panic:attempt to kill init)


im trying to install redhat 9 on a pc Intel Celeron CPU 2.40GHz with s3 Prosavage graphics and bulit in card and legacy sound and VIA Rhine fast ethernet call ar builtin cards.

after installition it gives long erroor nothing especial except

EIP is a disable_irq
kernel panic:attempt to kill init !

i searched google it seems there is somthing in hardware i tried to disabl the network card but same problem

what do u think i can do ??

You could try with a newer distribution, better with 2.6 series kernel. Fedora?
