Dual monitor while laptop is docked?

Has anyone tried to set up dual monitor on Suse 9.2 to output to the LCD and an external monitor when the laptop is in a port replicator?

I have an IBM ThinkPad T43 w/ Suse Pro 9.2 installed and can't seem to extend my desktop between the LCD and external monitor when it's docked.
