Detecting USB port without.........


This might be a dumb question but its not like its the first one ive posted, lol
Is there a way to check to see if my USB ports are working without having anything hooked up to them?

I see the following messages in my /var/log/messages file when the USB ports are enabled:
usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub
...
host/usb-uhci.c: High bandwidth mode enabled
...
host/usb-uhci.c: USB UHCI at I/O 0xe000, IRQ 5
host/usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
hub.c: USB hub found
hub.c: 2 ports detected
host/usb-uhci.c: v1.275:USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver
usb.c: registered new driver hid
hid-core.c: v1.8.1 Andreas Gal, Vojtech Pavlik <vojtech@suse.cz>
hid-core.c: USB HID support drivers

I also see usbdevfs and usbfs listed in /proc/filesystems

Thanks for posting that Idaho. Mine looks almost the same except for different IRQ assignment, So It would seem that my USB ports should work when I attempt to use them. Thanks again.
