Colorado 250MB Tape Drive Installation

It comes with this cable that hooks it up to the floppy connecter on the mobo, which I've done. It seems to work, when I put a tape in it scans the tape for the starting point just fine, but I don't exactly know how to use it from Linux. I'm running Debian on the box it's in. I just got this thing and some tapes for it for free so I'd like to try to put it to some use. Any ideas?

I can't offer to much help. I've never had the chance to use a floppy tape drive. About the time I first installed linux the drive failed and I decided to go with a SCSI unit.
