Changing display resolution scrolls top line of display out of sight.

Ubuntu 14.04, on Dell Latitude E6510, NVIDIA

I am trying to change resolution of my screen so that the text etc. is bigger.

When I do this the top line of the screen, the one with "Applications", the day and date etc, scroll off to the right out of sight. How can I change the resolution and still have that top line totally visible??

You don't really change resolution to make text bigger just change the default font and size for you desktop and applications, look in prefs.

Thanks Keith,

I didn't find any way to change fonts in the Appearance preferences. Looked up changing Desktop font and discovered I needed 'gnome-tweak-tool'.

I installed it and reset the proper font size and all is well.
