Bluetooth speaker connected but still got system audio

Hi all. I am trying to get audio from my Acer Aspire One netbook, running Xubuntu 14.04 (Trusty), to a bluetooth speaker via a Trust Bt dongle. The speaker bleeped appropriately and is showing a steady light (connected), Bluetooth manager is showing the device with a link quality of 100%, but the Pulse settings only show the built-in audio, which is all I can hear.

I found a couple of promising threads:

1) http://www.tooleweb.ca/blog/?e=8
but because Pulse won't recognise the speaker, I can't complete the solution.

2) http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...er-4175524479/
mentions a solution but doesn't link to it!

And so, seeing as I need to make my first post to reap the benefits of being here officially, this is it.

Can someone take me that step further I need?

Cheers,
DC
(still smiling in spite of this doing my nut in...)

Update

Code:
sudo pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover
from this post has made my speaker visible in PulseAudio Volume Control and I have set it to use A2DP.

Reverting to the instructions in this post mentioned in the OP I now have .asoundrc as follows:
Code:
pcm.Anker_sink {
type pulse
device bluez_sink.FC_58_FA_C8_65_67
hint {
description "Anker A7908"
}
}pcm.Anker_source {
type pulse
device bluez_sink.FC_58_FA_C8_65_67.monitor
hint {
description "Monitor of Anker A7908"
}
}
But still no output from the speaker!

Solved - sort of...

I could have sworn I posted an update to this. Maybe it's still awaiting moderation. Anyway, I now have it working in VLC. gmusicbrowser and SMPlayer refuse to play ball...

So, with my Anker speaker paired and connected (using Bluetooth Manager) it would not appear in PulseAudio Volume Control until I entered
Code:
sudo pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover
(from this post) in a terminal. From then on it has always appeared, even after a restart, don't ask me why.

gmusicbrowser and SMPlayer still played through the system speakers, though, as did VLC until I discovered you can select the Bluetooth speaker in its Audio menu. At last!

I think it should be possible to set things so that Pulse automatically switches to Bluetooth but I'll take what I've got for now.
