Bad EIP value...


I just built a system and I am running Fedora Core 1 on it. Installation went find and the system was up and running for a number of days. However when I go to shut down I get the following error:

Thanks for any help, I have tried a few things I've seen recommened online with no luck.

This is a kernel crash. To be honest, your best bet is to either install a newer version of Fedora (like FC3), or get a more recent kernel and start from there.

FC1 is legacy code, and FC2 is scheduled for legacy when FC4 comes out (currently March 21).

While you could debug this issue, there's a good probability that it's already been fixed, and you'd be reinventing the wheel. It's far better to start out with something more current.
