the openchrome driver is not available in Etch, so you apparently have manually installed the one from Lenny..
YOU CAN"T DO THAT, or at least you shouldn't mix packages from the different branches, unless you really know what you are doing. you WILL break our system mixing and matching from different branches.
have you considered upgrading the system to Lenny so it will be more up to date and the proper video driver will be available ?
