Adaptec 2940US76 SCSI

Any1 any idea why i cant get this DAMN thing to boot a IBM 9.1gb drive. The drive has my slackware linux on it.

The drive is set to 0 and terminated. the controller detects it, the bios is set to boot 0 and the m/b bios is set to boot scsi.

it just hangs at the time when the m/b has called the boot sequence.

Too be honest I hate Adaptec they just never work for me.

I have tried it in every single pci slot.

the motherboard is a Tyan Tiger VIA Apollo Pro 133A.

The bios are all up to date aswell.

Help me please.

Where does your boot partition reside on the SCSI disk?
What SCSI protocol is beeing used?
How have you configured LILO/GRUB?
