I just downloaded suse 9.1 and installed it. When all said and done, I have no sound. How should I go about getting it to work?

Have you tried running alsamixer? By default the volume levels are muted. -- J.W.

I can't get sound either-

I've tried lookin in the ALSAMixer and upping the level but I have no playback?

I have soled this problem, and it was a possibility in my head the entire time.

When I installed it, YaST2 asked if I wanted to get updates, so I said sure, I might as well. What ended up happening is I got the newest Kernel (2.6 I beleive) and I don't think it installed with sound compiled. I reinstalled it without the new kernel, and walah! Supurb sound, much better than mandrake!
