SuSE 9.2 Professional and MSI K8T Master2-FAR, VIA K8T800 and AMD 64bit support
I am going to be installing SuSE Professional 9.2 on my MSI K8T Master2-FAR workstation (dual boot w/ WinXP):
2 x AMD Opteron 248 (2.2GHz)
MSI K8T Master2-FAR / Award v1.1 BIOS
2 GB of TwinX1024RE-3200LLPT (4 x 512MB)
Highpoint RocketRAID 1540 PCI card
2 x 74GB WD Raptor (*boot partition* RAID Striping Array on VIA K8T800)
2 x 250GB Maxtor Diamondmax9 (RAID Mirrored Array on HPT1540)
Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9700 128MB (AGP 8x)
Enermax EG651P-VEFM (550W 24-pin ATX PSU)
Lian-Li PC-69 Aluminum Mid-Tower Case
WinXP SP2 and all critical updates
Has anyone here had experience installing on this motherboard or on the VIA K8T800 chipset in general? I am going to install the 64bit version of SuSE 9.2 and hope that the drivers for my Highpoint PCI and Radeon AGP card "work"...
Do I need 64bit drivers specifically - are they available?
I would love it if anyone can give me the lowdown on some of the pitfalls I can expect to run into - any help would be much appreciated.
