[Winmodem]5.03.27 Conexant driver not compiling for 2.6.1 kernel
Hi Guys,
With the desire of experiencing the bleeding-edge i painstakingly downloaded the 2.6.1 kernel over my wretched dial-up.[took nearly 3 hrs]
The kernel is simply great....right from the mouse feel [it even got my scroll button working!]
But problem....
1)Conexant HSF modem driver 5.03.27 does not compile under 2.6.1......is this a real unresolved issue or itz just me?? [BTW the driver woked fine under 2.4.18-14]
2)And the working one in 2.4 kernel is now defunct.
modprobe not able to find PPP.............saying
/sbin/rmmod.old.....i'm not the old version [from system logs]
these sort of headaches are frequently cropping ever since i installed the Rusty modules(module-init-tools-0.9.14)......
Shud i wait for a driver made for 2.6 kernels.......or shud i try to solve the 2.4 kernel mixup and shut-up.
and if it is the latter please let me know how to safely revert to the "old" module tools without disturbing Rusty 's.
now i dream of the day when i can switch between kernels on the fly...........
