Question Yum update fails because of a newer dependency

I can not run yum update because I've installed db4-4.8.30-3 (probably using rpm) and yum tries to install db4-4.7.25-18, which is an older version of db4.

I've waited several months and it does not appear that anyone running my repo sites will get off their duffs and make db4-4.8.30-3 avialable.

So, what can I do? I'm hesitant to downgrade db4-4.8.30-3 because that may be needed by another package. Can I tell yum not to update/install db4-4.7.25-18? Where can I find a repo site that more up-to-date packages. My OS is: 2.6.39-400.212.1.el6uek.x86_64

Please help!
Thanks,
Roger

Yes, you can tell yum to exclude packages.

Sorry, did not work. db4-devl is not installed and will not install because it is an older version! When, Oh when, will the repo sites update their db4?

to /etc/yum.conf
