winxp doesn't boot after installing wink2k and mandrake 10.1

when i select windows at lilo it takes me to the multi-boot windows screen giving me a choice between win2k or winxp, i choose winxp and it either gives me an error 'ntldr is missing' or 'the following file is corrupt, install cd and repair, \windows\system32\config\systemd'.

also, i don't know if this matters but the order in which i've installed the os'es was winxp 1st on the first partition of the first drive, then win2k professionl 2nd on second partition of the first drive, then mandrake 10.1 last on the second drive.

I know that windows 95/98 has to be fooled when booting if they aren't on the first partition on the first drive (C, can be done in lilo (<B>man lilo.conf</B>). I don't know if it is the case with XP, but you could just try to add XP to your lilo.conf and boot it that way. After you've done that you can edit boot.ini on your win2k to make it stop using the bootloader and loading straight into 2k.
The cleanest solution is always to use only one bootloader.

good luck,

Win98 wipes out winxp's loader normally.
