I've just recently moved from Windows 7 to Linux Mint 17.3. I'm not a fan of the Windows 8.1 / 10 interface, and with all the telemetry being added, decided it was time to move, since MS are REALLY pushing windows 10. I have a Laptop with Vista, but i'm Probably going to move that to Linux too, but only if I can get all my car diagnostics stuff to work in Linux. I also run a machine with XP too, its just next to my electronics desk for looking up stuff etc when I'm working on things. I'll probably be here more often now i've made the jump. :-)
I've been using Linux Mint almost exclusively since 2014, and currently run Linux Mint 17 with the Mate` Desktop. It is lean, solid, trouble free, and the upgrades, especially since LM 17, are a snap.
I still like to test other distributions just to follow what's going on around me, such as the Ubuntu-MATE, Fedora, and OpenSUSE. That said, I much prefer Linux Mint for its ease of install/upgrades, the update manager, and its overall stability and reliability.
Though it is touted as being best for beginners to Linux, which it is, it is also excellent for those of us who no longer have the time or inclination to try to "fix" broken releases, but just want a reliable box to use, day-in, day-out.

Reason: I needed to add my current distribution.
I am using Xubuntu on two machines, one of which is dual-booted with Windows 10. I use Windows 10 just enough to keep it updated and for a couple of games.
