you need a trial registration at the redhat network - at least this is the way it was as i used it before switching to debian. i don't know if RHN is also trial still so it might expire after 1 year.

try rhn_register at the console and afterwards up2date --update.

basically. go to red hat's site and click the redhat network link. download all the packages for redhat 7.3 and then install those packages. look at the thread for the exact commands and how to.

hi all,

i have register with command rhn_register, but when i try to up2date, there is and error like this. What's happened??

[root@localhost etc]# up2date
Error communicating with server. The message was:
host not found
[root@localhost etc]# up2date
Error communicating with server. The message was:
host not found

[root@localhost etc]# rpm -aq | grep up2date
up2date-gnome-2.8.40-3.7.3
up2date-2.8.40-3.7.3

[root@localhost etc]# wget -q -O - https://rhn.redhat.com/help/new-cert.sh | /bin/bash
The file /usr/share/rhn/RHNS-CA-CERT has already been updated.
No further action is necessary.
