TSL and SSL


by default Opera will use TSL encryption but is it safer then SSL?

can i use TSL to go for ebanking?

TLS provides an excellent means of encryption of data communication. TLS (Transport Layer Security) 1.0 is based on SSL 3.0, as introduced by Netscape, and has extended features over that older protocol in order to extend areas of potential use and to increase security.

And yes, it is good enough for online banking - better than SSL 3.0.

Here is a power point presentation you might want to read. TSL is a protocol that can use various secure methods for authentication and encription. The method used is probably the one that the banks server uses. ( I used open office Impress to view this )

so opera comes with this encryption by default and it will use it if supported (opera 7.5B1)
so can i use opera to do ebanking safely?

As long as you have you firewall set up, so a hacker can't break in. Also check the permissions set where you would save your financial records, and make backups incase a drive goes bad.
You should be protected against someone snooping traffic.
