Angry "the device node /dev/hda6 for the root filsystem is missing" after a sudden halt

I was doing a prelink -v -all on my laptop, debian stable distro.

Suddendly the laptop shut down, as if under processor overheating.

When I rebooted, it sent me to repair consol with such messages:

/sbin/udevstart cannot execute binary file

null symbol found
null symbol found

activating swap

the device node /dev/hda6 for the root filsystem is missing, incorrect or there is no entry for the root filesystem listed in /etc/fstab

The system is also unable to create a temporary node in /dev/shm to use as a work around

Then I'm sent to teh shell, ut I have found no solution n the web for this problem
