Shutdown simply hang at the last step (Power off)

Hello.

Due to that there is no linux drivers for my wlan card (Siemens Gigaset 54 adapter 802.11g), I use ndiswrapper. Since there is a problem with IRQ and ndiswrapper in some way, i have disabled ACPI. The kernel would hang randomly when i had ACPI installed. Now it works great, but when i try to shut down the computer with:
Code:
shutdown -h now
it simply hangs at "Power off" (The last step before actually powering off..). I'm using kernel version 2.4.28, and ndiswrapper version 0.12.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be very appreciated!

I too, am using ndiswrapper but I have disabled IRQ's, not the entirety of ACPI. You should really upgrade to woozy numbat (kernel 2.6.10-r1) as it will provide drastic leaps in functionality and performance, including better ACPI support.

Recompile the kernel and enable ACPI and everything that has to do with ACPI in there...thats what i did and it work but make sure you modulize the one that you can.

Personally i think Linus released the 2.6.x series too early. I will think about it when the kernel reaches the 15th version. How do i dissable only IRQ then?

I was thinking about doing that, but thought it wouldn't help..

Thanks a lot!

Hey, 2.6 really fixed some serious stuff for me. In Linus and Andrew I trust.
