Send text message to another machine

Hi how do i send a plain text message to another machine running linux locally which has another ip address
ie suppose my ip is 200.1.1.1. i wnat to send a plain text msg to 200.1.1.2 which has linux
installed locally.. i too am running linux locally ..

"rwall hostname"

man rwall for details. I believe that a certain daemon has to be listening to allow messages to be recieved by the remote host.

first you probably need to login to the machine with ssh.

then use write to start a message

see these

man write
man wall
man mesg
man who

it goes like this..

login with ssh. then...
use who to see where they are logged in..
who
