s2ram-- VT blank upon resume

After configuring s2disk, I would also like to use s2ram.
However with s2ram when i resume, all of the virtual terminals are black, with a blinking dash.
As was with my sound issue, I assume I need to unload some module or restart a service. I ggogled it, and couldn't find anything.
Does anyone know what module/ service the virtual terminals are, or other solutions to this problem?
Thank you you guys are great and I really appreciate your help

The VTs show up as things like "/sbin/agetty 38400 tty2 linux" in ps listings. If you just kill the agetty processes, init should restart them. Try "killall agetty" and see if it does what you want (this will also kill any ttys you are logged into).

Nope
Agetty is not installed, but getty is. I tried killall getty,
but the virtual terminals remain just a blinking "-"
I also tried /sbin/getty 38400 tty1 but it still doesn't work.
It also doesn't work if I try /sbin/getty 38400 tty8
However, that does work after restarting the computer.
That's why I believe it is a display issue.
